The MacNab Senior Choir is a dedicated group of people who really just love to sing, and worship through music. The choir is a mixture of very experienced singers as well as some people who are new to singing. The choir is a SATB choir, which makes for a wonderful melodic blend. Music ranges from classical to modern choral music.
ANYONE who would like to sing in the choir, is welcome to come and join us. If interested, speak with Gerald Smink (our Music Director). Gerald will listen to you sing a bit to help determine your vocal range so that you can be placed in the right section of the choir. Choir practices are held on Thursday evenings.
Aside from singing every Sunday during the regular church year, some choir members may be asked to be part of a duet, trio, quartet, or to solo and bring special music during the morning worship service.
The MacNab Choir hosts various special events throughout the year, giving the choir an opportunity to stretch their vocal abilities and bring special music to each event. The choir also also serves dinner to those who attend the events. Examples of such events are: Dickens of a Christmas dinner; Scottish Night (Robbie Burns dinner); and St Patrick’s Night. Funds from each event are used to support the Choral Scholarship Program.
