From September 2016 – April 2017, MacNab is pleased to announce that we will be welcoming Nicholas (Nick) Metivier as our Children’s and Youth Worker. Nick is going into his third year of a Master of Divinity Program at Knox College. This position will be assisting Steve in exploring and developing those aspects of the ministry at MacNab that have potential in building a ministry for children, youth and young adults. The funds which will finance this 14 hour/ week contract position are being provided by grants which Steve (with Session’s approval) has pursued over the past several months.
The grant funding that MacNab has received is for additional children’s, youth
and outreach initiatives not presently covered by MacNab’s budget. This
clarification is important because grant monies were not given nor will not be
used to supplement our present budgeted offerings. Instead, they are
designated for the purpose of additional and new initiatives.
We have been very blessed at MacNab to see a significant increase in our
offerings over the past 9 months; increases which are reflected in our 2016
budget and have decreased our dependence on a depleted Trust Fund. We
hope that the congregation will be encouraged with the news of our additional
grant monies, while at the same time continue our pattern of increased givings
for our regular expenses.
